Get Prepared

Before You Come

You don't need to do much, but these simple tips can make getting your passport or visa photo even quicker.

👓

Glasses

It's usually best to remove glasses where possible. If they are worn, your eyes need to be clearly visible with no glare or reflections.

🙂

Be Ready for a Neutral Expression

For most passport photos you'll need to look directly at the camera with your mouth closed and a plain expression.

👀

Keep Your Face Visible

Try to keep your hair away from your eyes and face so your facial features can be seen clearly.

🧢

Headwear

Hats and other head coverings may need to be removed unless permitted for religious or medical reasons.

👕

What to Wear

Normal everyday clothing is fine. Clothing that contrasts clearly with the required background can help produce a clearer photograph.

📱

Already Have a Photo?

If you're using our £4.95 printing option, bring the highest-quality original image you have rather than a screenshot or compressed copy.

UK Passport Photos

What Does a UK Passport Photo Need to Look Like?

UK passport photographs have specific requirements. We'll help you get the photograph right when you visit us.

👁️ Eyes Open & Visible Your eyes should be clearly visible and not covered by hair, glare or glasses frames.
😐 Neutral Expression Look straight at the camera with a plain expression and your mouth closed.
💡 Clear & Well Lit The photograph needs to be clear, in focus and evenly lit.
⬜ Plain Light Background Passport photographs normally require a plain, light-coloured background.
🎨 Full Colour Passport photographs should be in colour and should not use filters or effects.
📅 Recent Photograph Your photograph should be a recent and accurate likeness of you.

International Visa Photos

Visa Photos for Countries Worldwide

We don't just provide UK passport photos. We can also prepare visa photographs for countries around the world.

Visa photo requirements can vary depending on the country and the type of application, including the required photo size, background colour, head size and digital format.

✓ Printed visa photographs
✓ Digital visa photographs where required
✓ Different international photo sizes
✓ Walk-in service — no appointment needed

Just tell us the country you're applying to and the type of visa or application.

If you've been given official photo requirements by the embassy, consulate or application centre, please bring them with you so we can prepare your photograph accordingly.

👶

Passport Photos for Babies & Children

We can also take passport photographs for babies and children.

Requirements for younger children can be more flexible than adult passport photographs, particularly for very young children and babies.

Babies should be photographed on their own without toys or dummies visible in the finished picture. If they need support, we'll work with you to get the best possible photograph.

Already Have the Photo?

£4.95

If you've already taken a suitable passport or visa photograph, there's no need to pay for us to take another one.

Bring us the original digital image and we can prepare and print it to the required size for you.

📱

Need a Digital Photo?

If your application requires a digital photograph, choose our £11.95 digital option.

This includes the digital passport or visa photo option you need where supported, plus 4 printed photographs.

If you're unsure which option you need, just tell us what you're applying for when you come into the shop.

Important: Passport and visa photo requirements can vary by country and application type. We prepare photographs with the relevant requirements in mind, but final acceptance is always decided by the passport authority, embassy, consulate or application organisation processing your application.

No Booking. Just Walk In.
